How to cook/bake frozen salmon fillets in the oven easy way (step by step)
1. Preheat the oven to 400 °F.
2. Remove the frozen salmon fillets from their plastic cover and run each one under cold running water for a few seconds to remove the ice crystals. Then tap them all dry with a piece of paper towel. This helps to defrost the surface of the frozen salmon fillets and makes seasonings stick to them. Skip this step if you are short on time.
3. Season frozen salmon fillets with onion and garlic powders, salt and pepper, and oil.
4. Using your hands, rub the seasonings on salmon fillets for even coating. Then, place them on a greased sheet pan (I used a cast iron sheet pan and preheated it while the oven was heating up).
5. Drizzle some oil over the salmon fillets and place the sheet pan in the middle rack of the hot oven and let it bake for 20 minutes. At the end of 20 minutes, when the frozen salmon fillets are thawed, you may scrape the white spots off the salmon fillets using a spoon. Then, continue cooking the salmon fillets by broiling them for about 10 minutes for a crispy and crusty texture while they still remain tender and flaky. Do not overbake them!
6. Take them out of the oven and let them sit for 5 minutes. Serve them with lemon and your favorite side dishes. I served them with brown rice and roasted broccoli. ENJOY!
