This delicious, nutritious watermelon avocado feta salad is refreshing and filling. It has sweet, salty, creamy, and crunchy elements in one bite. The glory of summer watermelon in this salad is made to keep you cool and well-hydrated this summer. You make this watermelon avocado feta salad in 20 minutes ( or less) and serve it right away while it is chill.

Taste the summer sweetness in a bowl of watermelon salad! The glory of summer is completed with its delicious fruits of all kinds and, in particular, watermelon! When a watermelon gets into my grocery cart, I know that a watermelon party is on for the day until we eat it up all!
When the summer is here, you know watermelons are piled up in the grocery store for you to take them home. So do yourself the best favor and make a quick watermelon salad for all to enjoy. Not only it is quick and easy to make, but it is also so refreshing and delicious.
So, you come home after a hot day of grocery shopping and packing and unpacking all the groceries. First, let the watermelon chill in the fridge while taking a cool shower.
Then let the bread toast or broil in the oven (read more below in the post) and prepare the ingredients. You could skip the bread too!
Cut the watermelons into cubes (eat some while doing so!) and put them back in the fridge to chill them further. Then prepare the avocado and feta cheese by cutting them into small cubes and chopping the walnuts. If you have cucumber and mint on hand, toss them in!
When the toasted bread is cooled, you are ready to serve the watermelon salad. Mix all the ingredients gently together and serve them right away and see everyone smile!

Ingredients
You will need:
Watermelon. Used seedless sweet watermelon.
Walnuts. Adds crunch and lots of goodness to the salad.
Avocado. Make sure the avocado is ripe and ready to go! This will add more body to the salad and make you full longer.
Feta cheese. Adds more protein and flavor. I like this feta cheese (affiliate link). You may use any hard or soft cheese of your choice.
Toasted bread. Adds bulk to the salad and makes it a complete dish. I used my ultimate easy Easy sourdough discard flatbread.
Instructions
Prepare the ingredients by dicing them and toast the diced bread in the oven until crispy.
When ready to serve, place all the ingredients into a big bowl and gently mix them.
Let the toasted bread cool down before mixing it with the rest of the ingredients. Add the toasted bread last. This way, it will stay crispy.
Season them with spices or herbs you like. Optional. Serve and ENJOY!

- Unless you make this salad for kids, use well-toasted chopped bread, so they do not get soggy fast.
- Chill the watermelon in the fridge before making the salad.
- If you have fresh mint and cucumber, toss them in.
- Use herbs as possible. This is an easy way to boost the dish's flavor without adding more calories.
- Add a dash of your favorite spices: cumin, ginger, cayenne pepper …
- Prepare the salad right before serving and serve it chilled.
- Use fresh halves walnuts and chop them yourself!
- Add in your favorite chopped vegetables or fruits.
- Toss in toasted nuts or seeds.
- Add mint, basil, onion, or balsamic vinegar to the watermelon salad.
- Toss in some chickpeas or lentils to boost protein.
- Toast the bread cubes as crispy as you like. I toasted them semi-crispy so that kids could enjoy them easily.
- Feel free to adjust the amount of each ingredient.
Substitutes
- Substitute watermelon with cantaloupe, honey melon, pineapple, or strawberry. Any other fruits you like, or other summer fruits will work. Blueberries, grapes, apples, and pears are great too.
- Use pecans, cashews, or other nuts. Suppose you are allergic to nuts, substitute nuts with sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, or pumpkin seeds.
- Replace avocado with bananas or sweet potatoes.
- Substitute feta cheese with any other cheese you have on hand.
- You could skip the toasted bread. Or substitute it with legumes or vegetables.
Variations
- Toss the watermelon cubes into your favorite leafy green salad as a sweet treat.
- Use them in vegetable salads such as cauliflower broccoli salad.
- Add them to chickpea or egg salads for delightful sweetness.
- Mix them into potato and pasta salads. Why not!!
- Make a watermelon cucumber salad.
- Add mint, basil, onion, or balsamic vinegar to the watermelon salad.
How to store it
You can keep the watermelon avocado feta salad in an air-tight container in the fridge for 3 days.
What to serve with it
- Serve watermelon avocado feta salad with oven-roasted or grilled salmon fillet(my favorite), steak, or chicken such as my salmon with walnut crust, oven-grilled chicken recipe, or Juicy burger recipe,
- They go well with skillet dishes such as chicken, shrimp, and beef.
- Serve them with hard-boiled eggs or scramble eggs for breakfast.
- Add them as a side dish with pasta or potato dishes.
- Serve them with your favorite patties, such as my popular salmon patties.
- Serve them as a delicious, nutritious snack.
How to toast bread
- Preheat the oven to 400 °F.
- Cut the bread into small cubes.
- Season the bread cubes with olive oil, salt, pepper, and thyme. Or any other spice or herbs you like.
- Lay them flat on a sheet pan and let them toast for 5-10 minutes, depending on how crispy you like the bread cubes.
- Let them cool, and use them in the watermelon salad.
You can cut the process short by broiling the bread cubes instead of roasting them in the oven. But ensure you watch them closely so they do not get burned.
